Jay-Z is being accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The anonymous accuser, identified in court documents as “Jane Doe,” said the attack took place after she was driven to an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. The case was initially filed in October in the Southern District of New York, listing Combs as a defendant. On Sunday, it was refiled to include the Roc Nation mogul under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
She claims a friend took her to the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall without a ticket. Desperate to gain access, she approached various limousine drivers. One driver, claiming he worked for the Bad Boy founder, suggested she “fit what Diddy was looking for” and invited her to the post-show party. He instructed her to return to his car later that evening after he had transported Jay and Diddy.
The driver picked her up and, after about 20 minutes, arrived at the mansion. Upon arrival, she was asked to sign a document that she believed to be a non-disclosure agreement without receiving a copy. The party inside was filled with celebrities and people engaging in activities such as using marijuana and cocaine. The girl was offered a drink that made her feel lightheaded, prompting her to seek a quiet resting place. Shortly after, Diddy and Jay entered the room, and Diddy allegedly said, “You are ready to party!” She says she was held down, with the rappers taking turns assaulting her.
After the alleged rape, the victim “grabbed her clothes” and quickly left. She claims she made her way to a nearby gas station, where she called her father.
The accuser is seeking unspecified damages.
