The media world is mourning the loss of Robin Ayers, a beloved journalist, author, and radio host, who tragically passed away on Thursday, December 5. She was 45 years old.

Robin leaves behind her devoted husband Rob and twin daughters, Brooklyn and Madison, who were the center of her world. Just six days before her passing, she shared an Instagram post celebrating Thanksgiving and her twins’ 18th birthday, writing, “With the fam! Celebrating Thanksgiving and the twins’ 18th bday! Whoa.”

A Fighter and Advocate

As of now, the exact cause of Robin Ayers’ death has not been publicly disclosed.

However, in 2023, she revealed she was battling Leiomyosarcoma (LMS), a rare and aggressive cancer that affects soft tissues, often in the abdomen or uterus. Despite her diagnosis, Robin remained an advocate for women’s health, sharing her own journey with raw honesty. She used her platform to encourage women to listen to their bodies, especially when it comes to reproductive health.

“Sometimes it takes for you to go through life-altering moments to wake up,” Robin shared in a candid post from July 2023. “I learned that women around the globe suffer from reproductive organ issues, and we live with it so long that we normalize the pain.”

Robin emphasized the importance of advocating for oneself, noting that women—especially Black women—often go unheard when seeking medical care.

“Pay attention to your body, ladies, and listen to it when it’s trying to tell you something,” she urged her followers, a message that resonated with many.

A Resilient Spirit

Despite her health struggles, Robin remained committed to her personal well-being. After enduring two car accidents and a major surgery in 2023, Robin shared her determination to get back on track with her health in September 2024.

“This year, I’m fully healed from back pain and a major surgery,” she wrote. “So, here we are! #75hardchallenge was what I decided could get me right mentally and physically.” Robin’s dedication to her health and wellness, which she documented on social media, inspired many, and she proudly shared her progress with her friends and followers.

A Storied Career

Robin’s career was a testament to her passion for storytelling and connecting with people. She was a respected journalist, author, speaker, and radio host, known for her warm and engaging presence.

As the host of The RA Report on KBLA 1580, Robin kept her listeners informed with the latest trends and celebrity gossip. Her show, which aired weekdays from 6 PM to 7 PM, became a go-to for anyone looking for an uplifting and informative hour of entertainment.

Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to interview A-list celebrities like Will Smith, Jackie Chan, and Magic Johnson. She covered red carpets, co-hosted TV shows, and even delivered motivational speeches at events, always aiming to inspire others.
