The Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef seemingly ended when Not Like Us was released during the summer, with many fans believing it to be the knockout punch that gave Kendrick Lamar the win in their rap battle. Whenever Drake thinks the world is returning to what he knew as normal, the boogeyman seems to scare him every time. Kendrick Lamar’s surprise album drop on Friday has him in contention for Rapper of the Year. The album solidifies his stellar output this year.

The Canadian rapper did not take kindly to the constant badgering he has endured over the last six months and decided to take action. He sued UMG, the record label he claims worked cohesively to manipulate the performance of Not Like Us, causing its numbers to fluctuate and ultimately damaging his image. This is an outlandish claim that rap fans struggle to believe.

Adding to the buzz, Jalen Rose, in his first appearance on TNT’s Inside the NBA, dropped a joke referencing Kendrick Lamar’s track TV Off.

“I don’t know if y’all should be playing that Kendrick,” Rose said as they returned from a commercial break. “Y’all gonna get a lawsuit up here.”

Host Ernie Johnson quickly reassured him. “Lawsuits don’t scare us around here,” Johnson replied.

NBA Twitter got a kick out of Rose’s jokes all night, with many fans hoping to see him back on the show. Rose’s personality and humor were a perfect fit with the crew.
