”Somehow people find out who she is quite quickly. She has to deal with that like multiple times every day,” the celebrity chef shared. “She just has to build like an armory of like ways of kind of just because ultimately she’s there to… look after people, to do her job.

“You could literally throw terrible abuse at her because of me, and she’ll deal with it beautifully. And they’ll be eating out of her hands like half an hour later because she’s so kind and nice. And, you know, she’s there to do what nurses do.”

However, his daughters seem to let any negativity wash over them.

“They’re grown up with it now. Now they’re young women, and they’ve kind of… [learned] all the skills of dealing with that when they were teenagers in school, hopefully in a safe enough place to not have any massive mistakes.

He credits the women he is surrounded with – particularly his wife and daughters – for his resilience.

When asked if he feels lost at times, he shared, ”Oh, God, all the time. But to be honest, I always come back sort of stronger because I’m surrounded by extraordinary women. So obviously from, you know, my family, my wife.”

But he also gave credit to the women he works with.

“Somehow I’ve collected this smorgasbord of extraordinary women at work. And often when I’m very low, they kind of prop me up. And I know when they’re low, I prop them up. So it’s a very good yin and yang.”
