As a chart-topping artist and multi-talented performer, John Legend’s career often places him in the spotlight. But when the music fades and the lights go down, it’s his role as a father that takes center stage. In a recent social media post, the EGOT-winner shares a glimpse into his life as a father, featuring his four beloved kids.

Legend, 45, posted a sweet carousel of photos showcasing moments with daughters Luna Simone, 8, and Esti Maxine, 22 months, along with sons Miles Theodore, 6, and Wren Alexander, 16 months—all of whom he shares with his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

The Voice coach simply captioned the post, “Dadddd.”

Spending time with his children is very important for the multi-hyphenated entertainer. Legend recently told NBC Insider that being able to work on The Voice locally allows him to spend quality time with his children, finding a perfect balance between work and family.

“I also love that, you know, I live here in Los Angeles, I have four kids,” he said, adding, “It’s nice to work at home, basically, you know? And [it’s nice to] be able to take my kids to school in the morning and then go to work.”

Back in August of this year, Legend sat down with Parents.com for an exclusive interview, challenging the stereotype of Black fathers.

“My parents divorced, and we lived with my dad for many of my teenage years,” the “All of Me” singer said in his interview. “I’m very blessed to have had not only a present Black father but also somebody who was loving and showed me an admirable form of masculinity and who taught us how to be good men.”

“I know from personal experience that even when the father isn’t married to the mother, that doesn’t mean the father isn’t very present and involved in their child’s life,” Legend continued. “If you look further into the statistics, it shows that Black fathers are quite present and very involved in their kids’ upbringing, even if they’re not married to the mother.

John Legend appears deeply committed to challenging and changing the negative stereotypes of Black fathers, not only through his words but also by actively living and embodying the values he advocates for.
