Joe Budden appears to be throwing shade at Cardi B following her announcement that her long-awaited sophomore album has been delayed again.

Shortly after Cardi revealed that her album would not be released this year as planned, the podcaster took to Twitter with a pointed remark:

“Wonder if I’ll get an apology for saying _____ wasn’t dropping an album this year lol,” he tweeted.

Cardi and Budden have clashed in the past, with the rapper criticizing him for his repeated critiques, particularly regarding the uncertainty of her second album. Cardi’s debut project, “Invasion of Privacy,” was released in April 2018 and became an instant success. This body of work earned her a Grammy. However, despite several promises of a follow-up, the project has faced numerous delays.

In July 2024, Cardi went on a rant during a Twitter Spaces session, addressing Budden’s frequent commentary.

“It’s the fact you always talk s**t about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you would think I did something to this n***a… For the past two years, this n***a has only talked bad things about me,” she said.

Her remarks were prompted by Budden’s earlier comments on his podcast, where he stated, “We’ll never get another album again. I am standing on it.”

With Cardi’s latest delay, it seems Budden’s prediction has proven accurate.
