It is no secret that Jaylen Brown and Nike do not see eye to eye. Brown repeatedly mentioned that the athletic brand is partially why he believes he did not make the Team USA over the summer. It seems that Nike tried to use a childish interaction between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown earlier in the week. On November 10th, in a 113-107 loss against the Celtics at home, Giannis threw an elbow to which Jaylen Brown took exception.

Giannis extended his hand and playfully pulled it back at the last second. This was a schoolyard interaction that Brown did not like, and he called the former Finals MVP out.

“Giannis is a child, I’m just focused on helping my team get a win,” Brown told the media after the game. “And that’s what we did tonight.”

Giannis and the Bucks are navigating a tough stretch to start the season. They are sitting at 4-8, and the fourth win took a 59-point effort over the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night. Giannis finished with 59 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and three blocks.

Most importantly, his dominant performance helped him pick up the win and move closer to .500. Thursday at 12:11 a.m., the Twitter page for Nike Basketball put out a subliminal tweet that the 2024 Finals MVP called them out about.

NBA Twitter shared the same sentiment with Brown coming to his defense as this saga with Nike and one of the superstars in the NBA continues.
