In September of last year, photos of Shekinah Garner as a contestant on The Millionaire Matchmaker in 2013 began to circulate online—you might not have realized it though, because before 90 Day Fiance, the reality star’s nose and face looked quite different.

The reality star has been open about it, explaining in a (rather graphic) compilation video on Instagram that she “was age 39 in these photos and videos… and feeling like I had tried everything besides surgery. I had gone through a number of tragic losses in life that I felt prematurely aged me, and I was not happy with the loss of volume in my face and skin laxity in my neck. I had tried every facial product and treatment available to me, and obviously nothing provided surgery-like results… so it was time for actual surgery.”

The trained aesthetician revealed that she had several lifts done in April 2021, including her brows, mid-face, lower face, and neck. She also received “Halo Laser resurfacing” on her neck and face.

“I did have two facelifts, two neck lifts, a brow lift, an upper blepharoplasty, I’ve had lip injections, I’ve had consistently had Botox, I’ve had two nose jobs,” she shared via her Instagram Stories. “I’ve had two boob jobs, I’ve had a lot of surgeries but most of them were on my face. My breasts were my only body surgery.”

Fans discussed the changes to her face on a Reddit thread, and while we can’t condone commenting and passing judgment on someone’s appearance, we do sort of agree with the notion that surgeons have a responsibility to their patients rather than blindly collecting money off of insecurities. Just our two cents.

In season 6 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Shekinah takes a leap of faith to move to Sarper’s home country of Turkey after they resolve all of their problems. However, women from Sarper’s past (ahem, apparently there are 2,500 of them??) reach out to Shekinah, which leaves her questioning how well she really knows Sarper.

“Love is primal, but I think we tapped into a couple of things. One is that this show is incredibly authentic. I’m a huge lover of The Bachelor and that franchise, however, we were one of the first shows to actually tell real stories about ordinary Americans and their love journeys,” executive producer, Matt Sharp, told Gold Derby in May 2022. “Also, this show is about this journey with other cultures. When we launched this show in 2014, we were on the ‘love frontier’ of this whole new era of finding people all over the world.”
