The drama began when Twitter user Tim Gretzky (@chico_gretzski) expressed his disappointment over Cardi’s appearance, accusing the rapper of altering her body in a way that didn’t look natural.
The Tweet That Sparked the Feud
“The fact Cardi B really did that to her body is pissing me off! 😔😒.. Like y’all gotta start loving yourself ladies! No way she should’ve fucced her shit up like that and she really thinks that shit look good too. Smh, it don’t Cardi, you still bae a lil bit but you blew it,” the tweet read.
Unwilling to let the criticism slide, Cardi B quickly addressed the situation. She clarified that her appearance in the photo was due to the faja, not recent plastic surgery. Cardi emphasized that the garment exaggerated her figure but reassured fans that her body hadn’t changed drastically since her previous posts.
“Y’all really need to relax. This is how my body REALLY LOOKS LIKE …My body looks exaggerated in the other video cause I have a 5X faja on… I want yall to think wit yall brain. Y’all were just praising my body a couple days ago. Do y’all think I went and got surgery in 2 days?” Cardi responded, along with a picture and video of herself without the faja to prove her point.
Despite Cardi’s explanation, some fans weren’t convinced. Another user, Zhanè (@RochelleZhane), chimed in, suggesting that Cardi’s focus on her post-pregnancy body was misplaced.
“Babe, you still look crazy, and your stomach always looks like it’s about to rip apart. Focusing so much on how you look right now shouldn’t even be a thing because you just pushed out a child 😵💫 We gotta stop this,” Zhanè tweeted.
Not one to back down, Cardi hit back with a fierce reply, accompanied by a humorous picture of a potato and flowers, taking a direct shot at her critic’s appearance.
“Bitch, you literally look like a f**in’ potato yet you talking bout my looks with a passion. This why I be dragging you bitches by y’all draws, cause bitch why you got so much nerves,”* Cardi wrote.
Zhanè, seemingly unbothered, fired back, calling Cardi B insecure:
