Fiona MacDonald, Aussie TV personality, is being remembered after her death at age 67 yesterday following her battle with motor neurone disease.
The children’s TV host chose to announce her own death to the world via an Instagram post uploaded by her sister Kylie, which has been covered around the world.
Now, those who knew her the best are paying tribute to her and her legacy.

The late star was renowned for her role on Wombat, a children’s TV program, and her rapport with the show’s puppet Agro.
Now the voice of Agro, Jamie Dunn, has given a stirring tribute to his former co-star.
Speaking on 4BC radio yesterday, the actor recalled his memories of the late TV star.

“I’m sitting here remembering the laughter. But it’s kind of confronting that life is so cruel at times when someone as cheery as – you know, all I remember Fiona for, is just laughing.”
He even recalled one hilarious instance while filming Wombat where MacDonald insisted she and Dunn could move a table without the help of maintenance.
“I said, ‘All right, well, we’ll pick it up on three’, because it was a quite large table,” he recalled, “So we counted three, and she lifted and she farted.

“I’m telling you, we couldn’t restart Wombat until her and I had finished crying. It was, it was so hilariously funny, a stupid little fart. And she looked at me, I looked at her, then we just erupted. And I remember all the laughter. That’s all I remember. She was one happy girl.”
Host Sofie Formica teared up as she remembered the star, telling Dunn it was difficult to hear about Fiona’s death, “Because, as a mum, it’s saying goodbye to your kids that I think would have been the hardest thing for her.
“I was a little bit younger than Fiona. She was already a star on the show and and working with you when, when I started at Seven, and I looked up to her, it was one of those people who was just old enough than me that I admired her.

“I was a little bit, you know, I was a bit in awe of her, but her authenticity was always something that I strove to emulate, and she didn’t lose that ever. She was the same on camera as she was off camera, and that was one of the things I think everybody loved so much about her,” the radio host remembered.
Many other stars also paid tribute to the star, who later in life became a wine expert.
Shelly Horton wrote, “Rest easy lovely Fi. You are missed already.”
TV show host Neale Whitaker wrote, “Farewell beautiful, dignified and courageous Fiona from @davidnovakpiper and me.”
