Chicago native Dwyane Wade joined WNBA superstar Angel Reese on her show, Unapologetically Angel. The 13-time All-Star spoke about the rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Reese, the growing engagement in the WNBA, and offered Reese advice as she heads into her second season. Reese, who has been seeking wisdom from former players on her show, is eager to learn and improve after undergoing season-ending surgery.

Wade, a Naismith Hall of Famer, was candid in his advice, acknowledging that Reese understands her role on the court but now needs to focus on consistently contributing in the stat sheet and helping elevate her team after the Chicago Sky missed the playoffs.

“I saw the moments where you took that next step; it’s just about doing it more,” Wade told Reese. “You have it. Now it’s about working on it and being consistent. Don’t go into the gym, work on something, and then not trust it. For you, it’s about becoming more confident in your offensive bag. You’ve shown flashes. When the game slows down for you, that’s when it gets scary.”

Wade noted that as players head into their second year, recovery, confidence, and feel for the game often become easier with experience. Reese finished last season averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, and two assists. With Wade’s advice, Reese has the potential to grow further—time will tell if she can take her game to the next level.
