Mitchell made a statement walking the red carpet in a plunging gold DZO dress reminiscent of Bec Judd’s headline-making gown from the 2004 Brownlows.

Taking their relationship public for the first time, the pair seemed absolutely smitten holding each other and giggling together in front of photographers.

The fun continued inside the event where the duo appeared giddy by each others side as the award ceremony went on.

Ginnivan may not have been up for the medal but that didn’t seem to bother him as he looked every bit the winner smiling by Mitchell’s side.

After the glamorous red carpet event Ginnivan took to his Instagram with a photo of the duo posing together in the hotel before they walked the red carpet.

He simply captioned the photo “soft launch”, confirming the new relationship.

Mitchell also shared a carousel post originally posted by DZO. In between detail photos of Mitchell’s stunning gown was a photo of Mitchell and Ginnivan posing together and a second of the pair sharing a kiss.

The timeline for the pair’s relationship is unclear with this being the first time the duo have gone public but their chemistry on the red carpet was undeniable.

While many were curious about his new date, plenty of AFL fans were left with eyebrows raised wondering how he got an invite to the event at all.

Ginnivan was not considered among Hawthorn’s top performers across the season and only six players from each club are invited – supposedly the six with the best chance of taking home the Brownlow medal.

He ended up polling three votes for the season – making him the Hawks’ seventh strongest performer of 2024 in the context of Brownlow voting, just about justifying his appearance.
