What do you get when you mix glitzy wins, behind-the-scenes brilliance, and a sprinkle of history-making moments? The 2024 Creative Arts Emmys, of course!

Throughout two star-studded nights, this prelude to the Primetime Emmys 2024 gave fans plenty to celebrate—and even a new pair of EGOTs to swoon over. Yup, that’s right, songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the musical geniuses behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman, have officially joined the elite EGOT club, snagging their very first Emmy for their original song “Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?” from Only Murders in the Building. Now that’s what we call a lyrical win!

And that’s not all. Pasek and Paul are now the youngest members of the EGOT Hall of Fame, tying with Frozen composer Robert Lopez at 39. These two have officially cemented their place in award history, becoming the 20th and 21st artists to claim an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. With a pair of golden statues, they join a legacy that spans entertainment’s most coveted honours.

But the excitement didn’t stop there. While Pasek and Paul may have stolen the spotlight, there were plenty of other big moments to cheer for. Shogun, the FX drama set in imperial Japan, walked away with a jaw-dropping 14 trophies, including Outstanding Guest Actor for Néstor Carbonell. And then there’s The Bear, which saw Jamie Lee Curtis snagging an Emmy for her unforgettable guest role in the Christmas episode “Fishes,” pushing her halfway to EGOT status too! From choreography awards for The Idol to Sandra Oh winning her first-ever Emmy as a producer for Quiz Lady, the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys were nothing short of iconic.

Across two dazzling nights and 49 winners, the Creative Arts Emmys proved that the real magic often happens behind the scenes. From stunning choreography to sharp editing and breathtaking costume design, these awards celebrate the creative geniuses who shape our favourite TV moments. While the spotlight may shine on the technical feats, this year’s ceremony gave us every reason to get excited for the upcoming Primetime Emmys.

Until then, dive into the full list of winners and enjoy the ride!
